Carob Cake

Ingredients: 

  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup carob syrup
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Method:

  • Beat the shortening and carob syrup, then add the egg and beat.
  • Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl alternately with the milk.
  • Stir in the walnuts.
  • Pour into a lightly greased pan. Bake at 120º C in oven for about one hour, or until the cake easily separates from the sides of the pan.
